I was contacted by a local resident regarding vandalism in Malvern Park, benches and bins had been pushed over. This level of destruction in our local park was upsetting to see. I contacted Solihull Council straight away to ensure everything was made safe and to see when this could be repaired.
I decided to go to the park and as I was there Solihull Council had sent their workmen out to make the areas safe and assess the damage. They had to tape off a couple of benches as they now wobble and are unsafe to use. One bench had to be removed and a further bench was made safe however will need repairs.
It was fantastic to see the council act so quickly regarding this issue.
I will also be contacting St Alphege Neighbourhood Police to ensure the parks are added to their patrols, as this should not be happening in the area.
