About Samantha Gethen

Samantha Gethen has called Solihull home for over 20 years. It's where she and her family chose to lay down roots, raise their children, and become an active part of the St Alphege Ward community.

After completing her Sixth Form journey, Samantha trained as a dental nurse and worked at the Birmingham Dental Hospital. As her family grew, she made a career switch, venturing into finance and then accountancy as a self-employed professional. She now finds her days filled working close to home, serving as the Office Manager for a local MP providing assistance to constituents across the Solihull Borough.

But her bond with the St Alphege community isn't just professional. Samantha has volunteered her time in various roles over the years. She's been involved with Oliver Bird Hall as their Treasurer and has worked with St Alphege Church, focusing on its upkeep and fundraising. Her passion for education also led her to the Parent Teacher Association of the St Alphege Schools and to a position as a School Governor at Solihull Academy.

Samantha sees her time as a volunteer as an introduction to her role as a councillor. Her main goal? To keep up the good work of those who've served before her.

Samantha's vision as a councillor is clear: continuing the legacy of dedicated service established by her predecessors. Her presence is frequently felt in the ward; from listening to the concerns of residents to championing their causes and ensuring they always have a voice in the local governance. Samantha believes in a straightforward promise: while outcomes can't always be guaranteed, every voice will be heard, and every concern will receive a response.

With unwavering dedication, Samantha Gethen remains ever-present to stand with and for the people of the St Alphege Ward. For her, the residents' battles are her own, and she is ever ready to navigate them together, ensuring the St Alphege Ward remains a flourishing part of Solihull.
