A Local Resident contacted me regarding the potholes in the Brueton Park Car Park (Solihull Sixthform College Car Park).
I understand the concerns about the potential hazards these potholes pose, not only to vehicles but also to pedestrians who might suffer injuries.
Upon receiving the complaint, I promptly reported the issue to the Highways Maintenance team at Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. I am pleased to inform you that the team has conducted an inspection and acknowledged the need for urgent repairs. They have committed to executing temporary repairs within the next seven days. It is important to note, however, that the current adverse weather conditions might introduce delays to the surfacing program. Rest assured, the council is aware of the urgency of the situation and has promised to address it as promptly as the weather permits.
Furthermore, the Highways team has planned for permanent repair works to be undertaken later this year, ensuring a long-term solution to this issue. This approach not only remedies the immediate danger but also contributes to the sustainability and safety of our community infrastructure.
I urge all residents of St Alphege to remain vigilant and report any similar infrastructure concerns. If you notice potholes or any other public maintenance issues, please do not hesitate to send me an email with a picture of the concern. Your proactive engagement is crucial in helping us maintain the safety and integrity of our local environment.
